Putin's Heaven on Earth

My wife is a twitterer

As on social media

And she came across a tweet about a guy by the name of Aleksandr Dugin

Who has a great influence on Vladimir Putin

And the term she said related to this Dugin guy is

Immanentized Eschaton

And I said, that sounds like a religious term

And, after a bit of googling, my wife announces,

It is.

She continues reading,

Immanentized the eschaton is to bring about the eschaton which is supposedly the final heaven-like stage in history.

Like the rapture? I say.

I don’t think so.

Too interesting, I thought.

So, I downloaded a sample of the book with that title and that author in the title.

“’The American Empire Should be Destroyed’: Aleksandr Dugin and the Perils of Immanentized Eschatology.”

And then, I downloaded the book.

And it didn’t disappoint

As a young man, Aleksandr was feeling empty and looking for meaning
And he stumbled across traditionalism

That’s the rejection of everything modern

Because traditionalists want a return to the Golden Age

That existed in Hyperborea

From which the Hyperborean race emerged

Also known as the Aryan

Considered to be descended from Cro-Magnon man

 Mr. Dugin tells us that

The Hyperboreans rejected materialism

Because they were in touch with a transcendent reality

They had a supra-natural mind

Capable of seeing the world’s secret soul

And the descendants of the Hyperborean race

Come from Russia

Part of a geopolitical region Dugin calls Eurasia

Or Arctogaia

And Eurasia is in conflict with the Atlantic Evil Empire

Or Antichrist

Which originated in Atlantis

(Yes, the lost world one)

And their descendants now live in the United States

And they want a one world civilization

Achieved through

Globalization

Achieved through individualism and capitalism

Which are bad

Hyperborea

And he breaks the countries that between good and evil

Into four different categories

First, the countries Russia needs

Like the European Union, Japan, Iran and India

Second, those that might align with the United States

And so must be “neutralized”

Countries like China, Pakistan and the Arab countries

And third

Conveniently

The countries we used to know as the “Third World”

Which Dugin suggests be divvied up

Between those countries of the first category.

Like colonialism all over.

After all,

We know what the Aryans feel about dark-skinned people

And Jews, of course.

The fourth category is, of course, the Evil Empire

And the Americas under U.S. control

Which, of course, would include

Canada

But the first in this move toward a return to Hyperborea

Or heaven on earth

Is the creation of a Commonwealth of Independent States

Which would include;

Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan

And, of course

Ukraine

Without which,

Dugin claims the Eurasian Union would be meaningless.

Obviously, I’ve simplified the views of Aleksandr Dugin

Afterall,

He’s filled 30 books and who knows how many articles

As one scholar noted,

“Dugin is incredibly erudite, brilliant in his way

[But] the main thing to remember is that

[He and his followers] are 100 percent insane.”

Followers like Steve Bannon, a close aide to Donald Trump,

And Richard Spencer,

Who organized Unite the Right,

The neo-Nazi demonstration in Charlottesville back in 2017.

Whose ex,

Nina Kouprianova

Has translated Aleksandr’s work to English?

And Vladimir Putin,

The leader of a “developed” country,

With nuclear warheads.

Why would he

Listen to a man who’s batshit crazy?

It’s frightening to contemplate.
